A Legacy Worth Protecting

In 2024 a group of farmers got together with a vision of how they could leverage their operations and the community's strong agricultural industry to create a brighter future for the students of USD 483. The group of farmers established a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation that will raise crops, with the proceeds of the farm going toward secondary education scholarships to graduates of USD 483. The vision of the farm is to have all farming operations and management provided free of charge by local farmers. With the financial support of local vendors, end users, and community members we hope to drive operational costs down to maximize revenue and impact more lives. With guidance from the administration and the foundation board we strive toward offering scholarships upon graduation using a merit based points system. We hope this format will increase student retention and encourage our students to become more involved in clubs, sports and organizations and also encourage them to excel and achieve higher success in all that they do. Information on how points and scholarships will be awarded will be forthcoming and will be made available for public viewing. The success of this foundation lies solely on community involvement and willingness of many to give their time, talents, and gifts. Students of USD 483 are given a strong foundation at SWH and we hope these opportunities can take them to new heights and a brighter future.
